How do you feel whenever you hear the words great tribulation, end of times, second coming, revelation, rapture, or apocalypse? Does it terrify you and make you worry about what is going to happen? Fear of death, loss, and of the unknown is quite normal but we also have to remember that fear is not just a distressing emotion, it is also the spiritual force of Satan’s kingdom.
As a Christian, we have been taught that the best way to combat this fear is to be spiritually prepared and that means having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (John 14:6). If you believe in him and if you’ve accepted him as your Lord and Savior then there is really nothing to worry about for his promises shall give you peace and comfort. John 3:16 says, “ For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Let us be comforted by the fact that the end of days is really not the end of everything. In fact, this is Jesus fulfilling his promises. Yes, he’s coming back for us! Just like what he said in John 14:2, “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?” Knowing that Jesus is coming back will help us keep our eyes focused on what will last forever.
Those who know Christ shall not fear the end of days. So if you know Christ and you believe in Him, there is absolutely NOTHING TO BE AFRAID OF because God never breaks his promises and he promised you the gift of eternal life. Luke 12:32 says, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.” Jesus did not come to judge us, but to save us. Those who reject His offer of salvation will face the Judge at the end of days without Christ, and that is truly something to fear.
