  1. melovskittehs says:

Does this mean that the woman is a christian fascist?

  2. Sir Vegetable says:

With all the irony included – amen to that.

  3. twjolson says:

And what led you to conclude this is a woman?

  4. xton says:

There is no such thing as “Christian Fascists”
    What a fail.

    • The One Guy says:

Um, although most Christians aren’t fascists, you can’t really say there isn’t anyone who is both (especially since the Nazis were Christian).

      • Basara549 says:

I think you might want to actually read history. Nazis weren’t Christian. In fact, several of the Nazi organizations made you swear to leave Christianity to join, and the whole idea of Aryan Supremacy was based off of bizarre twistings of Nordic mythology (said mutilating of mythology actually started well before Hitler’s birth, even). They manipulated some Christian groups and ideas, but hardly belonged to them.

On the other hand, most of the people espousing Fascist ideas I know are supposed “liberal progressives” that are devout atheists (and, yes, I mean that seeming oxymoron, as they are so caught up in their insisting that no religion has the right to exist that it’s to the point of equivalency of religious dogma for them), and label anyone that disagree with them as “Fascist”.

The closest thing to Christian Fascists that ever existed were in Italy and Spain in that time period – not Nazi Germany.

I find the extremes of both sides really disturbing, as one of those people that is caught in the middle of the whole abortion debate – thinking it should be legal, but with no government coverage of non-emergency procedures, and certain conditions be met (like no 3rd trimester abortions of a healthy baby, when one could as easily just deliver it as a premature baby, that could be put up for adoption if it survived). I might be agnostic, but I believe if there is a hell, both the KS late-term abortion doctor and his killer are there, chained together for an eternity of mutual damnation.

        • The One Guy says:

I just did a little research; it seems you’re right in that Nazis weren’t inherently Christian, but they did not reject Christianity, they rejected Catholicism. Hitler himself attended Christian services (though its debated whether he truly was Christian).

        • passer-byer says:

As someone else who’s often caught in between the two sides, I find your comment relieving. It honestly seems sometimes that people can’t see things from another person’s perspective or draw lines within gray areas that consider different beliefs all the while keeping their own from going to the extreme.

To me, the intolerant pro-choicer is just as close minded as the intolerant pro-lifer.

        • GreatCommunistLeader says:

Now we know! And knowing is only half the battle… Against Christian facists…

      • lobsterfisherman says:

Nazis were atheists. they banned religion ask a refugee. mr. edumacated

  5. Eh, I don’t care to poke fun at people’s disabilities. Besides, the woman is obviously on to the joke anyway.

    • BetaBerry says:

Agreed, she’s definitely on to the joke. Too bad I can’t read the website’s name on the sign, or I’d check it out. Picture is still funny (for her own joke), but the title is pretty bad.

    • konkonsn says:

Agreed. If nothing else, it just shows how able-ist our language is.

  6. risu says:

Almost makes me want to stand up. Yea… that joke is getting old.

  7. ScruffyKat says:

    As opposed to Muslin Terrorists?

  8. MM says:

We are not fascists. And she’s the one with the problem for not recognizing the unborn as human. (this is obviously what the sign is about)

    • Humm. says:

“And she’s the one with the problem for not recognizing the unborn as human.”

      …Huh?

      • Retrospect says:

He’s trying to get into an old fashioned abortion debate. Just don’t encourage him, he’s crazy.

        • Humm. says:

I actually might want to, you know. Fun to see Christians raging. But really, MM’s statement right there is completely irrelevant to the picture. Or if it is relevant, I’d want someone to elighten me.

          • GreatCommunistLeader says:

It isn’t relevant, he just seems to be one of those Christians who feels like their balls get bigger everytime they talk about how “Abortion is wrong”

            • Gordo says:

I just hate those guys. I agree with them on the abortion issue, but I hate how they obsessively rant about abortion when it’s neither necessary nor appropriate.

          • GreatCommunistLeader says:

Actually no, Turns out it is relevant, But still… Abortion isn’t wrong…

          • homicidaltoast says:

its like implying that people who dont stand up against (non existent) christian fascists are not human. or thats what ithink he meant by that.

        • Nulono says:

That last comma should be a semicolon.

  9. OwenKL says:

Didn’t take much searching to find the source for the sign (though not the photo). You can read about it at:
    http://www.worldcantwait.net/index.php/features-mainmenu-220/reproductive-rights/5720-chicago-abortion-on-demand-and-without-apology
The real irony: this woman is protesting in favor of abortion on demand — which would, of course, result in the non-existence of many handicapped people.

  10. yeahright says:

Everyone in a wheelchair does not have a congenital defect, Owen. Maybe she was paralyzed after an epidural during childbirth and is out for revenge.

Caren Sydnor, 27, of Bear, Del., developed an epidural abscess that left her paralyzed after childbirth.

  11. edjh says:

umm that is really mean what if you were that woman getting mad fun of on this site alot a people like?huh?huh?u wounldnt like that would u?nope not 1 bit!

    • homicidaltoast says:

but she is kinda funny. just cus your handicapped doesnt mean you also need to be a fatass. unless she also has a condition that made her into a funny looking fat person who is perfect to post on a website.

      • Miirkaelisaar says:

Well, in all seriousness, it’s kind of hard to exercise… when you can’t walk. If you sit down for years on end, you usually get kinda fat, you know =/

  12. Katharine says:

Oh, there are tons of Christian fascists. The BNP, the American far right, etc.

Also, I’ll be slightly less angry at anti-choicers when they become pro-contraception. But only slightly.

  13. Katharine says:

Also, until it’s got a nervous system, I’m not considering it human. Besides which, realistically, it is a dumb idea to have a kid if you don’t want it. A child shouldn’t be used as punishment.

    • Malfeasant says:

i hesitate to say not human- that has too scientific of a definition, from the moment of conception the dna is there. but nevertheless, as long as it can’t live outside the mother’s womb, her wants and needs take priority over it’s.

  14. Katharine says:

In addition, punishing the woman by making her have a child is, I’d say, a punishment FAR out of proportion to the ‘crime’. It’s kinder to both parties involved if a woman who doesn’t want a child has an abortion.

    • Miirkaelisaar says:

It’s not a punishment. A punishment is inflicted. Only the person having sex can be blamed for the result. If there’s no sex, there’s no baby to kill. Or at least take the birth-control pills. Really, is it so hard to swallow a couple pills if it’s so easy to flush a tiny body into the garbage?

  15. me says:

she can always put it up for adoption if she’s not responsible enough to take care of it herself

    • it says:

Yours was a rather insensitive comment, y’know.
Oh, yes, and add to the huge number of children who are already in orphanages (you’ve never been an orphan, have you? I haven’t either, but I sympathise with any child who is – it seriously messes people up, not having parents to love them. And the older the child, the lesser the chances of it getting adopted, because parents want babies, not older, already slightly-messed-up children. In fact, I plan to never have kids and adopt when I’m older).
Secondly, it’s not about how ‘responsible’ a woman is. Perhaps the most responsible woman would be someone who opts for an abortion after deep thought, and decides that it would be best not to bring yet another unwanted child into the world and add to the already huge population on this earth.
Many women who have an abortion deeply regret it afterwards, so it’s never an easy decision to make.
Some people simply aren’t ready for children, don’t want children, or don’t even have enough money or resources to have children. Life isn’t black or white.
But all I can say is that I believe in quality, not quantity, of life.

      • Nulono says:

So, can we just go and nuke all the poor countries? After all, quality not quantity!

I agree we need to curb population growth. Violence is not the answer.

      • LissieisSOCool says:

If you don’t want to have children you should probably take the proper care in not getting pregnant. It is not as if *not* getting pregnant is rocket science. I want all the pleasures of sex without any of the ramifications! I am not christian, but I do not agree with the idea that “it’s not a baby…until”. Exactly who decides when a human is “real” enough to have rights? Most children in orphanages don’t end up in orphanages because their mothers gave them up for adoption. If you get pregnant and opt to give your child up for adoption most of the time there is a family ready to take said baby home from the hospital the moment he/she is ready to go. With all of the prevention methods out there, if you get pregnant without meaning to, you should be held responsible. One of the biggest flaws of America today is that no body takes responsibility for anything. If a kid screws up in school its the teachers fault, if some teen goes on a shooting spree it is the video games, it is always everything but the person. Eh, its not a real person yet, so I’ll kill it, I didn’t want it anyway.

        • Miirkaelisaar says:

Don’t forget, though. Modern adults simply CAN NOT LIVE without having sex. Don’t even attempt to tell them not to. They’ll do it just because you told them not to. The flesh and blood don’t matter if the nervous system is undeveloped, right? So let’s have sex. Let’s have fun. Because us being in ecstasy for 30 seconds is the most important thing. It’s more important than a baby. It’s more important than a future, live in the moment. Live in the spasm. And God forbid anyone decide that you’re too much trouble and decide to abort YOU =) Just don’t have unprotected sex, if it’s really so hard not to be an animal all the time. You’re like little dogs. Like chihuahuas, they’ll hump anything. Wouldn’t it be nice if no one ever had to lie awake at night and wonder “What color would his eyes be?” And I guarantee you if you have an abortion, you’ll wonder. They all do. If you don’t believe me, it’s because you haven’t had an abortion.

        • phyre says:

“if you get pregnant without meaning to, you should be held responsible.”

I have one word for you: Rape.

  16. Dan Knows a Thing or Two says:

i know what im wrinting has very little, or nothing at all to do with the picture but i wish to clarify a couple of things.
Benito Mussolini the de facto creator of fascism(whom Hitler drew many of his ideas) defined his doctrine, aka fascism, as “a corporate state”, which means that the govenment and corporations act as one regardng their interests and regardless of who has the upper hand over the other.
Considering the current state of U.S. politics it is had to deny that corporate america has taken hold over the the govenrment apratus, especialy the Republican party and to a great extent the democrats as well. Now, considering that that the christian right wing supports to a great extent the Reps. and their policies it’d be hard to deny the existent of Christian Facists. and remeber lack of regulation is precisely what coporations want and somewhat had gotten (2008 economic crash rings any bells)
Please note that i’m not impling that all christians right wings support those policies or are facists, but to deny that is absolutely foolish.

Also remeber Fascism/Nazism is completely and absolutely the opposite of left-wing.

btw i’m neither right of left wing, i’m an Anachist.

    • Miirkaelisaar says:

Yeah, the thing is, too many people try to pair a religion with a political counterpart, and it just doesn’t work that way. There are Christian Fascists, there are also Christian Liberals and Christian Republicans and Atheist Fascists. The religion is where the spiritual faith lies. Politics are your standpoint on government policy as it applies to you personally. A Christian might be wealthy and figure that socialized health care is just a way of rewarding poor people for being lazy (I know Christians who see welfare like this, but I disagree), while another Christian thinks it’s essential to save the population, most of which are poor people. It depends where you’re coming from. There’s no way to label someone just because they’re against abortion. I don’t like abortion at all, but I’m not Fascist, I’m a Democrat D=

  17. NancyYTX says:

Yeah, looks like that person’s having a GREEEEEAT life…yeah.

  18. notolaf says:

Wow, all this earnest discussion and I just wanted to say:

    “Still Waiting

Nah. I can’t even say it. Just forget it.
